- All motions, including discovery not handled through the pro tempore system and motions to continue unlawful detainer trials, are heard at 9:30 a.m. Monday through Friday, excluding court holidays. - Ex parte applications are heard Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday at 9 a.m. and Tuesday at 10 a.m. Requests for entry of judgment on breach of stipulation in unlawful detainer matters are heard Wednesday through Friday at 9 a.m. only. The Tuesday ex parte calendar is reserved for requests for stay of execution in unlawful detainer cases. - As of July 1, 2024 all pre-trial mandatory settlement conferences are set for in-person appearance on Tuesdays, Wednesdays or Thursdays afternoons the week before trial call. - Department 501 is generally closed for lunch at noon. If the morning calendar runs past noon, the staff recesses and a notice is posted outside the courtroom.
