An order granting media coverage under California Rule of Court 1.150 is required for proceedings inside or outside a courtroom, including courthouse interior spaces, entrances, and exits.

A media coverage order is limited to the identified judge or outside location and to the requesting media agency or agencies under an approved pooling arrangement.

The request to use the recording system must be made no later than five days before the proceeding to be recorded.

If electronic filing is permissive, an electronic document received on a court day by 11:59:59 p.m. is deemed filed that day; a document received on a non-court day is deemed filed on the next court day.

When filing the petition, the petitioner must request a status conference within 50 days of filing.

An attorney may notify the court of lateness caused by an appearance in another department and may seek court approval to leave early for another matter.

Counsel who cannot arrive by the scheduled time must notify Court Services, give the reason and estimated arrival time, and will have good cause if conflicting court appearances caused the delay and the notice requirements are met.
