District of Arizona

The District of Arizona, headquartered at the Sandra Day O'Connor United States Courthouse in Phoenix with additional courthouses in Tucson and Prescott, has 13 authorized judgeships and consistently ranks among the nation's leaders in criminal case filings due to its 370-mile border with Mexico. The Tucson and Yuma divisions handle some of the highest per-capita immigration prosecution volumes in the entire federal system. The courthouse is named for former Supreme Court Justice Sandra Day O'Connor, who was raised on an Arizona ranch.
