District of Guam

The District of Guam, established in 1951, holds court at the U.S. Courthouse in Hagatna and is the westernmost federal court in the United States. The district has one authorized district judgeship and handles cases arising from Guam's strategic military presence, tourism industry, and its status as a U.S. territory in the western Pacific. Cases from Guam are appealed to the Ninth Circuit and have addressed significant questions about the constitutional rights of unincorporated territories.
