Court Rules

District of Wyoming

dwy10th Circuit
2 judges

The District of Wyoming holds court in Cheyenne, Casper, Jackson, Lander, and Mammoth (inside Yellowstone National Park), serving the least-populous state in the nation. The district has two authorized judgeships and handles a distinctive caseload of energy (coal, oil, gas, and wind), public-lands, and wildlife litigation given that the federal government owns approximately 48% of Wyoming's land. The Yellowstone courthouse session is one of the most unusual federal court venues in the country.
