Eastern District of Arkansas

The Eastern District of Arkansas holds court in Little Rock, Batesville, Helena, Jonesboro, and Pine Bluff, serving the eastern half of Arkansas including the Delta region. The district has five authorized judgeships and a caseload that historically has included significant civil rights and voting-rights matters. Little Rock's central role in the 1957 school desegregation crisis placed the district at the forefront of civil rights enforcement.
