Eastern District of Kentucky

The Eastern District of Kentucky holds court in Lexington, Ashland, Covington, Frankfort, Jackson, London, and Pikeville, covering the eastern half of Kentucky including the Appalachian coalfields. The district has five authorized judgeships and a caseload heavily shaped by black-lung disability claims, opioid litigation, and coal-industry disputes. Lexington serves as the administrative center.
