How do I request an adjournment or extension in Eastern District of Virginia?
Requests should be made at least 14 calendar days in advance when this rule applies in Eastern District of Virginia. The request must include reason for request, original date, number of previous requests, previous requests granted or denied, adversary position, proposed new dates, proposed rescheduled date, and affects other dates. Defense counsel must respond within 14 days to reappointment or decline; if no response, Federal Public Defender will be appointed.
