Scott Circuit Court Adjournment & Extension Requirements

CRITICAL

A party may seek a continuance of a jury trial after the final pretrial conference only upon demonstrating extraordinary circumstances that may cause unjust hardship; an undisclosed or undiscovered scheduling conflict does not qualify.

No continuance of a jury trial may be sought after the date of the final pretrial conference unless a party can demonstrate extraordinary circumstances which may result in an unjust hardship to the moving party. A scheduling conflict not previously disclosed or discerned is not an extraordinary circumstance.

WARNING

Failure to respond may support sustaining a motion, but the response deadline may be extended for good cause shown.
