Middle District of Georgia

The Middle District of Georgia holds court in Macon, Albany, Athens, Columbus, Thomasville, and Valdosta, serving the central and southwestern portions of the state. The district has four authorized judgeships and a caseload that reflects Georgia's agricultural economy, including poultry-industry labor and immigration cases, as well as significant prisoner civil-rights litigation from several federal correctional institutions in the district. Macon serves as the administrative center.
