Northern District of Oklahoma

The Northern District of Oklahoma holds court in Tulsa, covering the northeastern portion of the state. The district has three authorized judgeships and a caseload that reflects Tulsa's energy-industry heritage, including oil-and-gas contract, mineral-rights, and environmental disputes. The district was significantly affected by the Supreme Court's 2020 McGirt v. Oklahoma ruling, which held that much of eastern Oklahoma remains Native American reservation land.
