Eleventh Judicial District Court, Nebraska Filing Rules

The joint property exhibit must be signed by counsel and the parties and filed with the district court clerk at least 10 days before trial.

The petitioner must submit the property exhibit to the respondent at least 30 days before trial.

Winning counsel must immediately notify the Clerk of the District Court of a judgment or decree; the file cannot be removed until the Clerk is notified, after which counsel may check it out to prepare the judgment or decree.

The proposed journal entry or order must be delivered for signature within ten days.

Applications for the specified protection orders must use the court-prescribed form.

A continuance motion must comply with Nebraska statutes, be set for hearing before the original trial date, and be submitted to opposing counsel before the hearing with counsel's position indicated; opposed motions are heard, while unopposed or no-argument motions may be decided without a hearing, and the court makes the final decision.

Temporary-custody affidavits are limited to 10 per side and 50 total pages, excluding tax returns and related financial records with Social Security numbers redacted.

A copy of the joint property exhibit must be sent to the judge at least 10 days before trial.

A discovery motion will not be heard unless the moving party certifies that opposing counsel has been contacted and a good-faith effort was made to resolve the dispute.

Less experienced attorneys should have opportunities to expand their experience under supervision through assignments within their capabilities.
