Request a stay first in the trial court; the Court of Appeals will consider it only after denial, inaction, or when applying to the trial court would be impractical.
Before asking the Court of Appeals to issue a stay or suspend the execution of sentence and admit a person to bail pending appeal, you must first make the request in the trial court.
