Magistrate Judge Jessica S. Allen was appointed to the District of New Jersey on February 17, 2021.
Judge Allen earned her law degree from Seton Hall University School of Law in 1996. She began her legal career as a law clerk to Magistrate Judge Madeline Cox Arleo and Judge Ronald J. Hedges of the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey. Her career included service as a partner at Killian Firm, P.C., as an Assistant U.S. Attorney, and as an Assistant Attorney General with the New Jersey Office of the Attorney General, where she argued before the New Jersey Supreme Court in the landmark employment case Aguas v. State of New Jersey. She is a past president of the New Jersey Women Lawyers Association.
