An attorney or party who e-files a motion or response must notify the opposing parties and assigned judge or designee by email contemporaneously and no later than 24 hours after e-filing.
When an attorney or party e-files a motion or any response, the attorney or party shall notify the opposing parties and the assigned judge or the judge’s designee by e-mail of the motion or response contemporaneously but no later than 24 hours after e-filing.

A party seeking a motion hearing need not file a request form but must email Ms. Rivera once the motion is ripe and provide a time announcement for anticipated oral argument.
Parties seeking a hearing on any Motion(s) need not file a Request for Hearing but must contact Ms. Rivera via email and make such request once a Motion is ripe for adjudication. Parties must provide a time announcement for their anticipated oral argument when making any request for a hearing.

An interpreter request must be submitted by email to Griselle Rivera no later than ten days before the hearing.
The request for an interpreter must be submitted in writing via email to the Court’s Criminal Litigation Manager Griselle Rivera (grdavis1@dekalbcountyga.gov) and Judicial Assistant Fran Shaw (feshaw@dekalbcountyga.gov) no later than ten (10) days prior to the hearing date.

Parties must submit a written request for an incarcerated defendant or witness by email to the Court’s Criminal Litigation Manager at least 30 days before the scheduled court appearance.
Parties must submit their request in writing the Court’s Criminal Litigation Manager Griselle Rivera (grdavis1@dekalbcountyga.gov), and the production request must be received no later than thirty (30) days before the scheduled court appearance.

For a hearing on a motion other than a summary-judgment motion, parties need not file a hearing request but must email Mr. Little once the motion is ripe for adjudication.

EFileGA service and court emails must be directed to both the Judicial Assistant and Criminal Litigation Manager, and counsel must never email the judge directly.
Service via eFileGA and emails to the Court shall be to both the Judicial Assistant, Mrs. Damico N. Edwards at dnedwards@dekalbcountyga.gov, and the Criminal Litigation Manager, Ms. Abigail Rudica at arudica@dekalbcountyga.gov. In no instance should counsel directly email the Judge.

Counsel must email the court to schedule a new-trial hearing once the motion is ready to be heard.
Once a motion for new trial is ready to be heard, counsel shall email the Court to schedule the hearing.
State and defense counsel must notify the court when an interpreter is needed for the defendant or a witness.
The State and defense counsel shall notify the Court of the need for an interpreter for Defendant or a witness.
The party must notify chambers when the divorce is ready for finalization.

Electronic communication is encouraged for scheduling and administrative matters, but legal arguments must not be submitted by email.
While electronic communication is encouraged for scheduling and other administrative matters, the Court will not accept or consider legal arguments raised via email.
Include the opposing party or parties, or their counsel when appropriate, on communications to the Court.
When communicating with the Court, Parties are reminded to ensure that the opposing Party/Parties or counsel, as appropriate, are copied on all communications.

An attorney unfamiliar with Courtroom 7B’s evidence-presentation technology must email Court Administration IT for equipment training no later than five business days before the proceeding.
If any party intends to present exhibits at any hearing, trial, or other proceeding, and the attorney is unfamiliar with the evidence presentation technology in Courtroom 7B, then that attorney is required to email Court Administration IT, courtadminit@dekalbcountyga.gov, for equipment training no later than five (5) business days before the court proceeding.
For adoption scheduling, contact the Staff Attorney; a home investigation is also required.

After submitting the consolidated pre-trial order, the parties may contact Mr. Little about scheduling.

Counsel who has previously used Courtroom 7B’s evidence-presentation technology should arrange with Court Administration IT to test media before the court proceeding to check for corruption and compatibility.
Even if counsel has previously used Courtroom 7B’s evidence presentation technology, arrangements should be made with Court Administration IT to test media before the court proceeding to ensure that the files are not corrupted and are compatible with the courtroom technology.
