Senior District Judge David C. Godbey was appointed to the Northern District of Texas by President George W. Bush in 2002.
Judge Godbey was born in 1957 and earned his law degree magna cum laude from Harvard Law School in 1982. He clerked for Judge Irving L. Goldberg on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit before entering private practice at Hughes & Luce LLP, and served as a state district judge for Texas's 160th District Court from 1995 to 2002.
