Putnam County Court of Common Pleas, General Division Pre-Motion Conference Requirements

CRITICAL

An answer brief may be filed by the fourteenth day after filing, a reply brief by the twenty-first day, and the motion is deemed submitted on the twenty-first calendar day after filing.

The opposing counsel or party may file an answer brief by the fourteenth day after the day on which the motion was filed. The moving party may file a reply brief by the twenty-first day following the day on which such motion was filed. On the twenty-first calendar day after the motion was filed, the motion shall be deemed submitted to the Court.

CRITICAL

After a case is set for pretrial, a motion may be filed only with prior leave of the trial judge, who may set the briefing and submission schedule.

No motion shall be filed in any case after it has been set for pre-trial without leave of the trial judge first obtained, who may establish the times for filing of briefs and submission of the motion.

Oral argument will be ordered only if a party requests it or the Court orders it.
