**Recalled United States Magistrate Judge Barbara A. McAuliffe** was appointed as a United States Magistrate Judge for the Eastern District of California on October 14, 2011, and now serves in a recalled capacity. Judge McAuliffe is a 1989 graduate of the University of San Diego School of Law, Magna Cum Laude, where she was the Executive Editor of the Law Review. She presides over various civil cases with parties' consent, including business litigation, employment, class actions, and civil rights cases. Over her 24-year legal career, she worked on both sides of the bar. Her eleven-year private practice (1989–2000) involved complex civil litigation in employment, construction, and business.
