District Judge I. Leo Glasser was appointed to the Eastern District of New York by President Ronald Reagan in 1981. He assumed senior status on July 1, 1993.
Before his federal appointment, Judge Glasser served as Dean of Brooklyn Law School from 1977 to 1981 and as a judge in New York's Family Court from 1969 to 1977. He spent over two decades as a professor at Brooklyn Law School (1948–1969). He is a veteran of the United States Army, serving as a technician from 1943 to 1946.
