Source text: The parties should use the most current version of the Ninth Circuit Model Civil Jury Instructions, which are available on the Ninth Circuit website, where possible. If a model instruction is used, the parties shall clearly reference the number of the model instruction. Any modifications to a model instruction must be plainly identified to the Court. Any language a party proposes to be removed from a model instruction must be designated with a strikethrough and language proposed to be added to a model instruction must be underlined. The parties shall provide citation to legal authority in support of proposed changes. All blanks in model instructions shall be completed and all brackets removed.
Exhibits lists must use specified table format with Ex. No., Description, Offered, Admitted columns.

Courtesy copies must be double-sided, three-hole punched, ECF stamped, tabbed, and marked “Chambers Copy – Do Not File”.

Source text: Each party must prepare at least three (3) complete, legible and identical sets of exhibits in binders. The number of binders will vary based upon number of opposing parties’ counsel. Within the binders, the pre-marked exhibits must be separately tabbed and assembled in sequential order. The binders shall be delivered as follows: a. Two (2) binder sets shall be delivered to Courtroom Deputy Jan Nguyen (one for use by the Court and one for use by any witness at the witness stand); and b. Source text: Any audio/video images should be made available to the court through electronic means (i.e. CD, flashdrive or on a laptop computer) for use during trial. Photo images may also be displayed by electronic means during trial and should also be placed in a binder and marked accordingly so that they may be submitted to the Court for Findings, or to the jury for deliberations.
Two sets of trial exhibits are required: a witness set with color-coded tags and a judge set with numbered tabs, no tags.
Source text: Please make sure to bring two sets of exhibits as follows: one original set for the witness with exhibit tags (pink for plaintiff, gold for government, blue for defendant, or joint tags); and one separate set for the judge. Exhibit tags should be placed on the witness' set of exhibits only. The judge's set does not require exhibit tags, but the exhibits should be separated by numbered tabs. Exhibit tags can be obtained through the clerk's office, or counsel may create the tags electronically by inserting the tags directly onto each document.
