The Eastern District of Texas, headquartered in Tyler with courtrooms in Beaumont, Lufkin, Marshall, Sherman, Texarkana, and Plano, achieved worldwide renown as a preferred patent-litigation venue, particularly the Marshall and Waco divisions. The district's plaintiff-friendly reputation and fast scheduling attracted thousands of patent infringement suits, making it the most popular patent court in the world for much of the 2000s and 2010s.
