Attorneys must designate a primary email address for service and receiving pleadings after the initial pleading and must electronically file documents through the Florida Courts E-Filing Portal.
In general, attorneys are required to designate a primary e-mail address for the purpose of serving and receiving service of pleadings (after the injtial pleading) and are required to electronically file documents through the Florida Courts E-Filing Portal.

Beginning March 1st, 2022, proposed orders can be submitted electronically via THE E-FILING PORTAL. This document contains instructions on submitting proposed orders electronically to Judge Stewart. All documents should be submitted through the E-Portal using these instructions.

All exhibits must be emailed to the Judge’s Judicial Assistant and supplied to the Clerk’s Office in paper form five days before the court proceeding, with exhibit markings and an index.
Please forward all exhibits to the Judge’s Judicial Assistant via email 5 days prior to your court proceeding. All exhibits must be marked with an exhibit number or letter and you must provide an index. You must also provide paper copies to the Clerk’s Office 5 days prior to the court proceeding.

Comments filed by attorneys in good standing with The Florida Bar must be submitted electronically through the Florida Courts E-Filing Portal.

For all Petitions to Approve Attorney’s Fees and Costs in excess of $3000.00, please set them for an evidentiary hearing before the General Magistrate and submit an Order of Referral to the General Magistrate through the portal for Judge Brodie’s signature.

Because the electronic exhibit binder is only for Judge Loukonen, counsel must still bring separate paper copies for in- person proceedings, and must still file electronic copies for remote evidentiary hearings. The Clerk requires a paper copy of the exhibits.

Exhibits intended for evidentiary use should be filed electronically or by mail with the clerk far in advance of the hearing so they can be entered into the court file.
If you have exhibits that you wish to introduce into evidence, THEY SHOULD BE FILED ELECTRONICALLY OR BY MAIL WITH THE CLERK OF COURT FAR IN ADVANCE OF THE HEARING, with sufficient time to be entered into the viewable Court file.

Once you have completed the attached Designation form, return it to the Clerk of Courts on the first floor of the Charlotte County Courthouse, 350 E. Marion Ave, Punta Gorda, FL. If you have an ePortal account, you can e-file the Designation form.
If a required transmission node or network experiences a computer outage, filers may revert to paper submission.
In the event that there is a computer outage at any of the several transmission nodes or networks that must be working in order for this process to work, you will retain the option to return to the previous practice of paper submission and continue functioning with limited interruption of service.
