Northern District of Illinois

The Northern District of Illinois, headquartered at the Everett McKinley Dirksen United States Courthouse in Chicago, is one of the nation's largest and most prominent federal courts with 22 authorized judgeships. Chicago's status as the nation's financial center for futures and derivatives markets generates an outsized commodity-fraud and securities-litigation docket. The district is also home to the Federal Judicial Center's Chicago office.
