Central District of California

The Central District of California, with its main courthouse at the First Street courthouse in Los Angeles and additional courtrooms in Riverside and Santa Ana, is the largest federal judicial district in the country by active judgeships, with 28 authorized positions. It handles an enormous entertainment-industry docket spanning copyright, contract, and right-of-publicity disputes, as well as a massive volume of immigration and civil rights cases. Its Riverside Division, covering San Bernardino and Riverside counties, is among the fastest-growing in the federal system.
